Bookings & Appointments

• All grooming appointments must be booked in advance.

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

• We request reasonable notice where appointments need to be cancelled or rearranged.

• Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may result in cancellation fees or refusal of future bookings.

Dog Health & Behaviour

By booking an appointment, you confirm that:

• Your dog is fit and healthy enough to be groomed.

• You have informed us of any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, or behavioural concerns.

• Your dog does not knowingly pose a danger to staff or other animals.

• Vaccinations are up to date where appropriate.

We reserve the right to refuse grooming where a dog appears unwell, highly distressed, aggressive, or presents a safety risk.

Fleas & Parasites

If fleas or parasites are discovered during grooming, we reserve the right to use an appropriate flea shampoo or treatment where necessary for the protection of the salon environment and other animals.

Additional cleaning or treatment charges may apply.

Grooming Process

• All grooming is carried out with care, patience, and attention to animal welfare.

• Grooming can occasionally reveal pre-existing skin, ear, lump, or health concerns which may not have previously been visible beneath the coat.

• In cases involving severe matting, discomfort, or behavioural concerns, we may alter or stop the groom in the interest of the dog’s welfare.

Matting Policy

Severely matted coats can cause pain, skin irritation, restricted movement, and hidden medical conditions.

Where matting is significant, clipping short may be the only humane option available.

By booking our services, you authorise Yappy Paws Dog Grooming to remove matted coats where necessary in the best interests of your dog’s welfare.

We are not responsible for minor irritation, redness, clipper sensitivity, or underlying conditions revealed following mat removal.

Puppies, Elderly Dogs & Medical Conditions

Extra care is taken with puppies, elderly dogs, and dogs with existing health conditions. However, grooming can still place stress on some animals.

Owners remain responsible for informing us of any medical or behavioural concerns before the appointment.

Emergency Veterinary Treatment

In the event of an accident, medical emergency, or serious welfare concern during grooming, we reserve the right to seek veterinary treatment if immediate owner contact is not possible.

Any veterinary fees incurred remain the responsibility of the owner.

Late Collection

Owners are asked to collect dogs promptly once notified that grooming has been completed.

Additional charges may apply for significantly late collections where this impacts staffing or later appointments.

Liability

• Grooming carries a small risk of minor cuts, nicks, irritation, or stress, particularly where matting, behavioural concerns, or pre-existing conditions exist.

• We will always inform owners of any issues identified during the grooming process.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yappy Paws Dog Grooming is not liable for:

• Pre-existing conditions becoming apparent during grooming

• Reactions to grooming products or procedures

• Stress-related reactions arising from the grooming environment

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Payments

• Payment is due upon completion of the grooming service unless otherwise agreed.

• Prices may vary depending on coat condition, dog behaviour, breed size, and time required.

Photography & Social Media

From time to time, we may take photographs or videos of dogs before, during, or after grooming appointments for use on:

• Social media platforms

• Our website

• Marketing materials

• Printed promotional content

No personal customer information will be intentionally published without permission.

Owners may request that their dog is not photographed or featured in marketing content at any time.

Personal Data

We only collect personal information necessary for managing appointments, customer communication, and dog welfare records.
